QR Codes: Significant area of growth in consumer packaged goods

According to the National Retail Federation, the total spending on Halloween this year is expected to reach $8 billion, more than at any time in history. This is a strong signal for a rebound for Black Friday and the winter holiday season.

"Americans spend nearly $2 billion on Halloween candy, which makes up 8% of the U.S. sweet sales," according to this infographic, courtesy of Pronto, which highlights consumer spending during Halloween, as well as the percentage of Americans spending during the holiday.

Green is big business with $40 billion in sales last year according to data collected from various market tracking services and Advertising Age. The organic food market is $29.2 billion, hybrid, electric and clean-diesel vehicles more than $10 billion, energy-efficient light bulbs more than $2 billion and green cleaning products $640 million.
